Peanut oil refined Ph. Eur.
Gustav Heess
The production of our refined peanut oil begins in the peanut fields. The plants, including the peanuts growing underground, are pulled out of the ground using special harvesting machines. The peanuts are then laid out to dry for 2 to 4 weeks to reduce their water content from 40 to around 7 to 5 percent, which extends their shelf life and prevents mold growth. To optimize the pressing performance, the peanut kernels obtained after dehulling are flaked and then processed further in the expeller press. The resulting raw peanut oil then undergoes a refining process, is filtered several times and undergoes a final quality test in the laboratory to guarantee a high-purity peanut oil.
Our refined peanut oil meets the standards of the European Pharmacopoeia and is continuously monitored for the highest quality through a special test plan. By establishing diversified supply chains with different seed origins and locations for oil mills and refineries, we ensure a high level of supply security, even in the event of local incidents such as extreme weather conditions.
Although peanut oil is versatile, it is not suitable for everyone as peanuts contain allergens that often lead to food-related allergic reactions. However, refining removes the allergy-causing peanut allergens, making the oil suitable for people with allergies.
