Gustav Heess

The production of our refined organic palm oil begins with the harvest of the oil palms (Elaeis guineensis L.), recognizable by the orange-red color of the ripe fruit. This year-round harvesting process is mainly carried out manually: Workers cut the fruit bundles from the palms using machetes or sickle blades on long poles. After cutting, the bundles fall to the ground and are collected. The freshly harvested palm fruits are then transported on trucks to the oil mill, where they are treated with steam under high pressure. This step removes unwanted microorganisms and makes it easier to separate the fruit from the bunches by loosening them. The water content of the fruit is also reduced, which makes the pressing process more efficient.

The separated fruit is then pressed, creating a mass of pulp and nuts. The nuts are separated so that they can be processed into palm kernel fat and all components of the fruit can be fully utilized. In a further step, water and impurities are removed from the remaining pulp. Quality assurance checks accompany each processing step to ensure that the end product meets our high quality standards. The crude palm oil is first refined before undergoing a final filtering process to remove natural suspended solids and particles.

Once it arrives in Germany, our refined organic palm oil undergoes final laboratory analyses to ensure that it meets our strict quality and purity standards. The "IP" (Identity Preserved) label guarantees end-to-end traceability. In addition, our product is RSPO-certified, which confirms that it is produced in accordance with the guidelines of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil for sustainable cultivation methods. The combination of RSPO certification and the organic label underlines our efforts to act both ecologically and socially responsibly in palm oil production.
