Depending on the climatic conditions, the flax is harvested either in late summer or at the beginning of fall, using harvesting machines. Around 3 kilograms of linseed are needed to produce one liter of cold-pressed linseed oil, which can be grown on an area of around 30 square meters.
After harvesting, the crop is carefully cleaned of impurities such as sand, straw and stones. This is followed by a careful drying process to preserve the sensitive fatty acids. In the oil mill, the oil is then extracted from the seeds purely mechanically using pressure and gravity. The oil obtained in this way is fed into a collecting tank and undergoes a filtering process that removes natural clouding agents. The crude linseed oil then undergoes a refining and deodorization process to remove color, odour and any impurities. Strict analyses in our DIN ISO 17025-certified laboratory confirm the high quality and purity of our refined linseed oil with special suitability for the food industry.
