The coconuts used for our refined coconut oil are harvested using long sticks fitted with knives. We rely on a responsible global supply chain that excludes the involvement of monkeys in the coconut harvest. After harvesting, the fibers are removed from the nuts. The kernels are then opened to extract the coconut meat. This is dried to remove the moisture and thus increase the shelf life. The dried coconut meat is cleaned, crushed and finally mechanically pressed in an expeller press to extract crude coconut oil. The crude oil is refined in a refining process and then filtered several times to remove all natural residues.
Our high-quality refined coconut oil meets the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia and is subject to constant quality control through a detailed testing process. We have established diverse supply chains to ensure reliable delivery even in the face of local challenges such as extreme weather conditions. These include different sources for seed procurement as well as several locations for our oil mills and refineries.
