Our high-quality coconut oil is made from coconuts harvested with long, knife-tipped sticks. We pay attention to an ethically correct global supply chain that excludes the use of monkeys during harvesting. After the coconuts have been harvested, their fibers are removed. The nuts are then cracked to obtain the valuable coconut meat. This coconut meat is dried to reduce moisture and extend the shelf life of the oil.
In the following process step, the double bonds in the unsaturated fatty acids are saturated by means of hydrogenation, which means that the originally liquid oil is transformed into a solid fat. To achieve the desired degree of hardness, continuous checks are carried out during the process to verify the melting point of the product. In a final refining process, we refine the hydrogenated oil and pass it through several filtration steps before it undergoes a final quality control. The quality tests are carried out in our own DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025-certified laboratory and are supplemented by additional analyses from external laboratories.
