Sunflower seeds are harvested when the backs of the sunflower heads have turned yellow to brown and the leaves have wilted. The harvested sunflower seeds are cleaned and dried to achieve the optimum moisture content. The next step is to hull the seeds, separating the shells from the kernels. The dehulled sunflower seeds are crushed and prepared through a conditioning process that heats the seeds and adjusts their consistency to facilitate oil pressing.
Mechanical pressure is used to extract the oil from the seeds without the use of high temperatures to ensure the cold-pressed quality. The raw sunflower oil obtained is then filtered to remove natural residues. The resulting product is a pure and cold-pressed sunflower oil that is prized for its natural properties and nutritional value. Quality control is carried out according to a carefully developed test procedure. We analyze the quality of the sunflower oil in our own DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025-certified laboratory and, if necessary, we extend these tests with external analyses to ensure the precision and reliability of our results.
