The production of our refined shea butter with a specifically adapted melting point of 43 degrees begins with the women collectors of village communities in West Africa. They harvest the ripe shea nuts in the wild, remove the outer green layer with a knife and heat the nuts to crack the hard shell and make the valuable fat accessible. This work provides the women with an independent and above-average income, making them less dependent on their families and husbands and enabling them to support them financially.
The processed shea nuts are then heated in an oil mill and pressed purely mechanically to obtain the raw shea butter. The raw shea butter then undergoes a complete refining process and a further technical process to increase the melting point. Our shea butter with this increased melting point of 43 °C is mainly used in the cosmetics industry in the manufacture of products that require specific melting properties.
