The ripe shea nuts from the shea tree are collected by a women's community in West Africa and processed using a knife. To obtain the valuable fat, the nuts are heated and the shell is removed. Through their work, the women earn an independent income, making them financially less dependent on their husbands and families. The shelled fruits are taken to the oil mills, where they are refined and filtered several times. Before the precious butter finds its way to Germany, it is refined according to European standards and finally reaches our headquarters in Leonberg. There, the shea butter undergoes strict controls by our DIN ISO 17025 accredited laboratory to ensure that only the best quality is passed on to our customers.
