Peanut oil cold pressed

Gustav Heess

The production process for our cold-pressed peanut oil begins in the fields, where the peanut plants are harvested together with the nuts that have grown underground using harvesting machines. The harvested peanuts are then dried for two to four weeks, reducing their moisture content from 40 percent to around 5 to 7 percent, which both improves the shelf life of the nuts and minimizes the risk of mould growth. In the next step, the shelled kernels are mechanically cold-pressed. Following the gentle extraction process, the oil undergoes thorough filtering to remove any impurities and residues. This process guarantees the preservation of the oil's natural properties, including its vitamins and valuable secondary plant substances. A final quality test in our accredited laboratory confirms the high quality and purity of our cold-pressed peanut oil.

Usage

  • Cosmetics

    • Peanut oil is used in infant and child care
    • As a bath oil or as an additive in bath salts
    • Particularly popular as a massage oil as it is absorbed slowly into the skin and has very good gliding properties
    • Component of skin and sun oils with positive skin protection properties
    • Used in scalp products
    • Helps against dry or flaky skin and eczema
  • Food

    • Basis for widespread use in the food industry, e.g. in margarine or for refining soups and spices
    • The smoke point of refined peanut oil is approx. 207 °C, making it ideal for cooking, frying, grilling, deep-frying and baking
    • Refined peanut oil is particularly popular in Chinese and Asian cuisine for preparation in a wok
    • A major advantage of refined peanut oil is its neutral taste. Refined peanut oil does not absorb the flavor of the food cooked in it

Sustainability & responsibility

We audit our producers regularly and pay attention not only to compliance with the agreed high quality requirements, but also to the treatment of employees and the impact on the environment. Our producers regularly prepare sustainability reports and document the careful use of resources in detail. We not only look at European oil production (oil mill and refinery), but also at the entire supply chain, including the countries where our high-quality peanuts are grown.
