Our Paraffinum Liquidum Ph. Eur., often also called white oil, is a highly refined mineral oil obtained from crude oil. In production, the crude oil is first distilled to separate its various components. The fractions suitable for paraffinum liquidum are then further refined to remove impurities. This refining process includes bleaching, dewaxing and hydrogenation. The result is a viscous, colorless and odorless kerosene that is valued in many cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications for its purity and consistency.
