For many years, we have been growing jojoba bushes in the Arauco Desert in Argentina, a region that is perfect for sustainable agriculture. Surrounded by two high rainfall mountain ranges, the area benefits from abundant groundwater and extreme temperature fluctuations, with up to 50°C in summer and temperatures below freezing in winter, creating ideal conditions for the jojoba plants to grow.

In cooperation with Demeter, a leading organization for biodynamic agriculture, we rely on holistic cultivation methods that promote the vitality of soil, plants and animals and support the ecological balance. These strict guidelines contribute to biodiversity and sustainable agriculture that prioritizes fair working conditions and environmental protection.

The growing season starts in August with the flowering phase and continues into the harvest season from March to April, when the fruits ripen, turn brown and burst open. Over 500 hectares are cultivated and the intensive exchange with the growers during the season enables us to determine the seed price after the harvest, which influences our final price for the jojoba oil. In 2015, our modern oil mill was completed, which uses oil presses developed together with German engineers for gentle processing of the seeds. The highest quality standards are ensured by regular audits and analyses in our accredited laboratory in Leonberg. The entire production process follows the Demeter standards, which are stricter than the EU organic standards and help to ensure ecological and ethical quality and contribute to sustainable agriculture.
