Organic castor oil refined

Gustav Heess

The pods are harvested around six months after sowing our organically grown castor beans. At this point, they are brown in color and crack open - a clear sign that the seeds are ripe. Due to the high toxicity of the seeds, we use mechanical machines during harvesting to avoid direct skin contact and the inhalation of dust. After harvesting, we dry the pods to make it easier to deseed the seeds. The oil is then extracted from the seeds purely mechanically using a hydraulic press. The resulting organic castor oil is then refined and undergoes a final filtering process to completely remove all natural turbidity and the toxic protein ricin.

After the refined organic castor oil arrives in Germany, we subject it to a strict final inspection at our headquarters in Leonberg. This test takes place in our DIN ISO 17025 certified laboratory. The entire production process follows strict environmental and social standards, which not only ensure the high quality of our product, but also guarantee the protection of the ecosystem.
