Our refined organic apricot kernel oil is obtained from apricots grown on small family plantations. These plantations are preferably located on slopes and plateaus, which prevents the formation of late frosts caused by cold air from the valleys. To increase biodiversity and improve soil quality and resistance to pests and diseases, we use the space between the apricot trees to grow vegetables, cereals and apple trees in the early years. The apricot blossoms are pollinated in spring by wild bees and honeybees.
In the summer months of July and August, the ripe apricots are harvested from the trees by shaking. After an initial drying phase of several days in the sun, the kernels are carefully separated from the pulp, which is then dried further and marketed as dried fruit.
The apricot kernels are washed cold before being mechanically broken and separated from the shells. The resulting shells are used as environmentally friendly fuel. The kernels either go directly into the food industry or are used to produce our high-quality oil. The oil is extracted using a mechanical expeller press, then refined and filtered several times to remove natural residues. The resulting press cake is used as animal feed, which makes the process particularly sustainable.
A final laboratory check confirms the high quality and purity of our refined organic apricot kernel oil and makes it a valued product in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. The entire production process follows strict ecological and social guidelines to ensure both product quality and the well-being of the ecosystem.
