The production of our cold-pressed macadamia nut oil begins in the fields of Africa with the harvest of the fat-rich nuts. As soon as they reach maturity, the outer green shell of the fruit begins to dry out and detach from the branches of the tree. As a result, the nuts gradually fall to the ground over a period of several weeks. To ensure quality, they are collected at regular intervals using sweepers, with any nuts that are left behind being collected by hand.
The kernels are separated from their shells and then sorted to ensure that only food-grade macadamias are processed. In the oil mill, the nuts are mechanically cold-pressed and the resulting oil is decanted before undergoing a final filtering process. Natural residues are removed by this gentle process and the high-purity macadamia nut oil is ready to be transported to Germany, where it is checked for quality in the final production step. The quality is checked in accordance with a detailed test plan using analyses in our own DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory and is supplemented by external analyses if required.
