When the leaves fade in September, the evening primrose harvest begins. Using scissors and gloves, the harvesters carefully and cautiously remove the seed capsules from the plant. These seeds are cleaned and dried until they have the optimum moisture content for maximum yield. Once the oil has been extracted using modern pressing methods, it undergoes a series of refining steps. In the final production step, the oil, which has a minimum content of 10% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), undergoes a final filtration process to remove natural suspended solids and particles. Tests in our DIN ISO 17025-certified laboratory confirm the high quality and purity of our evening primrose oil. Due to its high gamma-linolenic acid content of at least 10%, it is ideal for use in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
