Safflower oil refined type I Ph. Eur.

Gustav Heess

The extraction of our refined safflower oil begins with the harvesting of the safflower seeds in late summer, when the petals have already dried out and the seeds inside the flower heads have hardened. After the seeds have been harvested, they are carefully cleaned to remove all dirt particles and foreign matter. In the next step, the cleaned seeds are dehulled, leaving the hulls as a valuable by-product. The remaining safflower seeds are then subjected to a purely mechanical cold pressing process. This method uses neither heat nor chemical additives, which preserves the natural properties and original taste of the oil. During this process, a press cake is created from the raw materials and the extracted crude safflower oil is obtained as a further by-product. The crude oil is gently refined and filtered several times to remove natural suspended solids and particles. Final laboratory analyses confirm the particularly high degree of purity and quality of our refined product.

Our refined safflower oil type I Ph. Eur. meets the high requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia and is subject to a specially developed test plan that continuously ensures the quality of our product. Even in the case of local challenges such as extreme weather conditions, we guarantee a high level of supply security thanks to diversified supply chains with different seed origins.
