In rice mills, the freshly harvested rice grains from the rice seed (Oryza sativa L.) are processed directly on site. The nutrient-rich outer layer, also known as rice bran, is separated from the inner core of the rice grain. The oil is extracted from the rice bran using heat and steam. The resulting oil is refined in a refining process and natural residues are removed using multiple filtering processes. In Germany, we subject our refined rice germ oil to final laboratory analyses to ensure that it meets our strict quality and purity standards.
We ensure reliable supply by diversifying our supply chains, with different seed sources and geographically dispersed locations for our oil mills and refineries. This means we are well equipped to deal with local challenges such as extreme weather conditions.
