The fruit used for our cold-pressed avocado oil comes from African plantations that offer optimal conditions for avocado trees. These plantations are managed according to the principles of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), which ensures the protection of consumers, workers, the community and the environment. The sustainable farming methods used there include mulching to conserve soil moisture, cover cropping to increase biodiversity and moisture, monitoring moisture levels using probes, using low flow drip irrigation systems to reduce water requirements and composting fruit residues. In addition, each fruit is fully utilized - either in oil production or as compost.
The pear-shaped avocados are picked in an unripe state and ripen during transportation and storage. After harvesting, the fruit is cleaned and then chopped. In the malaxer, the fruit flesh is mixed with water until it is processed into a fine paste, known as pulp. This pulp is pumped into a decanter, which separates it into oil, water and solids. After the mechanically extracted oil undergoes a further separation process, it is finally filtered to remove natural particles and suspended solids. The end product is a cold-pressed avocado oil with the highest degree of purity and quality, which is confirmed by strict analyses in our DIN ISO 17025-certified laboratory and makes it a particularly valued oil in the food and cosmetics sector.
